SINGAPORE PORT CONGESTION – CONTAINER TRANSHIP DELAYS

7/10/2015

To all our Valued Customers,

We have been advised that the port of SINGAPORE is said to be struggling to cope with the increasing demand for container shipping services that now stretch its handling capacity of 25 million TEU to the limit. Delays are currently being experienced with containers being delayed at the port of Singapore where the originating port is only serviceable via a tranship shipping service to Australia and NZ.

At this time we are seeing shipping connection delays in Singapore of 2-3 weeks.

With this in mind and the transit delays being experienced we have immediately changed our shipping offering so shipping lines calling Singapore are not selected at least until the congestion issue is resolved.
