General Rate Increase (GRI) South East Asia to Australia 15th September 2014

General Rate Increase (GRI) – Announcement by Maersk Shipping Lines

South East Asia to Australia

To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for all customer requirements, Maersk Line is implementing the next phase of our recovery program with effect from 15th September 2014.

Freight rates from South East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) to Australia will be increased by USD 300 per TEU and USD 600 per FFE

This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.
