General rate increase – South East Asia to Australia – Effective 1 April 2014

28/2/2014

Dear all valued customers

Please take note of the following media release in relation to shipping line announcements on freight rate increases ex Asia to Australia

General Rate Increase (GRI)

South East Asia to Australia

To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements, Maersk Line is implementing the next phase of our recovery program with effect from 1st April 2014.

Freight rates from South East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) to Australia will be increased by USD 200 per TEU and USD 400 per fee.

This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.

Please contact your assigned customer solutions representative if you have any questions.
