OOCL – Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD)

29/9/2020

To our Valued Customers,

There have been significant delays around the Australian Coastline due to ongoing industrial action. OOCL have advised that the worsening port congestion in Australia, particularly Sydney, has greatly impacted their Australian service network. To try to improve their schedule integrity, planned port omissions occur more often.

If OOCL discharges containers at an Australian port that is not the final destination, OOCL will provide “customers the option to take delivery from this port with COD Admin fee waived and make their own transport arrangements to final destination which will be on the customer’s account. Alternatively, customers can also choose to have the containers remain at the discharge terminal and wait for the next available vessel on the same service loop to take cargo to their original requested final destination. To help mitigate the additional operational costs associated with this move to the next available vessel on the same service loop, a Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD)” will apply.

The Transport Additional surcharge (TAD) will apply on a freight collect basis and is as follows:

USD 250 per 20ft GP Container

USD 500 per 40ft GP/HQ Container

This does not include to reefer shipments. Please contact us to discuss.
