Media Release

General Rate Increase (GRI) North East Asia to Australia

To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements, the shipping lines are implementing the next phase of the revenue recovery program with effect from 15 October 2012. Freight rates from North East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea) to Australia will be increased by USD 250 per 20′ container and USD 500 per 40′ container. This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.
