PACKING DECLARATION FORMAT CHANGES

31/10/2017

To Our Valued Customer

BR International wishes to inform our customers of another change being implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ( DAWR ) in relation to packing declarations.

The DAWR have stated that bamboo packaging will no longer be regarded as an unacceptable form of packing ( provided it has been adequately treated ) and therefore not required to be declared this way. This means that revised consignment specific and annual packing declarations will be implemented on 20 November 2017.

The DAWR will continue to accept packing declarations that are in the current format for consignments shipped on or before 30 June 2018. This will provide ample opportunity to update any annual packing declarations to the new format. All consignments shipped on or after 1 July 2018, must be accompanied by a packaging declaration that meets the revised requirements.

BR International will provide updated packing declaration templates once they are made available, currently scheduled for 20 November 2017.

Please feel free to contact your BR International Customs department should you have any further queries in relation to this matter.

Keeping you updated BRi Customs Team
