Advisory: Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) suspends Port Operations as severe storm intensifies into super cylcone.

Dear Valued Partner,

Please be informed that severe cyclonic storm ‘SITRANG’ has intensified into a super cyclone.

As of this morning, all Chittagong Port operations have been suspended.

With a view to protecting the jetties from any impending destruction likely to be caused by the super cyclone SITRANG, Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has suspended discharging and loading operations and hauled out all vessels to vacant CGP Port this morning.

All vessels are advised to take safe refuge where it will be deemed to be safe.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, it is likely to move in a northerly direction and then recurve north-northeast wards before cutting its path through the Bangladesh coast between Khulna and Chattogram between Tuesday late night and Tuesday afternoon.

We will continue to monitor the situation & keep you updated.
