NEW MELBOURNE TERMINAL OPERATING – ADDS FURTHER FEES TO CUSTOMERS DELIVERY

11/4/2017

Dear Valued Customers,

As many of you may be aware, Melbourne Ports has recently introduced the 3rd International Container Terminal, VICT which has commenced business from Webb Dock.

VICT is listed to be a state of the art facility and almost completely automated, as such having very different operational procedures to the other terminals (DP World / Patricks).

Due to the automation procedures, all containers will be loaded doors rear, as well as carriers requiring to deliver Export containers into the terminal the same way (doors to rear).

All containers will be weighed at the terminal in line with SOLAS & CoR (Chain of Responsibility) Regulations and therefore a fee will be applied for this service by VICT.

The fee levied will be $12.50 per container and charged through the normal VBS system to carriers in addition to the container booking (time slot) fee.

Unfortunately this goes along with a list of recent fees currently implemented and announced by terminals & road authorities.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your BRi customer service representative if you have any further questions.

Keeping you updated
