General Rate Increase (GRI) – United States East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast to Australia and New Zealand

26/8/2014

To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements, Maersk Line is implementing the next phase of our recovery program with effect from 1st October 2014.

Freight rates for US origin cargo i.e. from United States East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast to Australia and New Zealand will increase for both Dry and Reefer containers, as follows:

  • United States West Coast

USD 250 per 20′ container

USD 500 per 40′ container

  • United States East Coast and United States Gulf Coast

USD 150 per 20′ container

USD 300 per 40′ container

This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.
