Increase in Landside Terminal charges

10/8/2021

Dear Valued Customers

We continue to experience difficulty in the container empty dehire sector, when obtaining dehire slots at various empty parks. Both space & congestion have created a very difficult operating environment for the container carriers, Shipping Lines are more frequently providing the transport operator with last minute change of destination, which is reducing productivity and increasing costs. As a result;

  • Container chain have decided to increase their slot & empty fee’s to help improve sites, keep terminals operating & most importantly operating in a safe manner for all who enter.

  • In Western Australia, Wharf terminals have brought in a COR(Chain of responsibility)fee, where containers will be weighed on arrival to make sure there are no discrepencies in what weight has been declared. Any containers with a descepency of over 1 + tonne may be penalised further. Please be sure to emphasise to your suppliers that correct weight is being declared.

These increases come into effect from Monday 16th August. The cost increases are industry wide and BR International has no alternative but to pass these increases to our customers. The shipping and port services industries continue to be adversely impacted by what is a Global disruption due to the effects across the globe of COVID-19. These fee increases vary from state to state.

  • NSW - $120.00
  • VIC - $85.00
  • QLD - $95.00
  • SA – Empty $65.00 / COR $25.00
  • WA – Empty $65.00 / COR $25.00
  • NT - $45.00
