Australia Post and Star Track Deliveries – Delays Expected

15/4/2020

To all our Valued Customers,

I’m writing to you this morning to provide an update for you regarding delays across most major delivery networks.

In particular Australia Post/Start Track

As you have no doubt seen, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought traditional Bricks & Mortar retail to near standstill.

Except for essential goods retailers, most others have turned their focus to online sales, as this is now their only avenue to market.

This has seen a significant uplift in traffic across all courier services offering home delivery.

We have been constantly engaging with our main partner in this area, that being Australia Post / Star Track.

Their feedback is that volumes are tracking well above Xmas 2019 levels & they continue to rise.

As such we are seeing considerable delays in the following areas:

  • Supply of dispatch cages (critical for efficient movement of parcels)
  • Late & delayed pick up services (we need to now constantly chase throughout each day)
  • Delivery delays to normal parcel post items
  • Delivery delays to express post items
  • Backlog of case resolution (non/mis-delivery enquiries)

While our partners continue to do everything they can to manage through this challenging period, we ask for your patience through this period also.

We strongly suggest that you consider advising your customers of potential delays, as these are certainly extraordinary times & proactive communications will no doubt help.
