Covid-19 Update - BRi China Office Working Arrangement and Port/Trucking/Customs Operation

We would like to share some update about the current situation in China, below shows the latest Covid-19 statistics.

China is clinging to the zero-tolerance approach to the pandemic and the Governement has urged the enforcement of science-based control measure to halt the further spread of the the Virus.

After a 7-day lockdown in Shenzhen and 3 rounds of mass tests, the city basically achieved "daynamic clearance", with the public transport including the metro resuming today (March 21st), but the commerical hub of Futian District would stay under lockdown until further notice. Residents who could present a negative Covid-19 test result from within the previous 48 hours could take public transport and commute to work.

Shanghai has so far resisted a complete lockdown is fighting her worst Covid-19 outbreak since start of the pandemic. Some districts in Shanghai have implemented strict restrictive measures such as lockdown of residential and office buidlings as an effort to contain the spreading throughout the city.

Below is a summary of the most updated situation of BRI offices and China main port operations:

Shenzhen --- Basically resumed normal after a 7-day lockdown

BR Shenzhen office: Change from Work From Home to Working in Office from March 21st

Ports in Shenzhen: Normal Operation

Trucking & Customs in Shenzhen: Normal Operation

Warehouse in Shenzhen: Resumed normal operation from March 21st

Special Remarks:

A similar lockdown was lifted in Dongguan, a city nearby Shenzhen. The authorities required residents to stay in town

but those who need to travel would need to present negative test result taken within the last 48 hours.

Shanghai --- Some districts partly lockdown

BR Shanghai office: Half Work From Home, half work in office from March 21st until further notice

Ports in Shanghai: Normal Operation

Trucking in Shanghai: Basically normal operation(All truckers were reqeusted to provide PCR test negative certificate before entering into the city, Shanghai truckers couldn't travel to other cities)

Customs in Shanghai: Normal Operation

Warehouse in Shanghai: Normal Operation

Xiamen

BR Offices: Working as normal in office

Ports/Trucking/Customs/Warehouse: Normal Operation

Special remarks: 

More cases were found in another major city of Fujian called Quanzhou, stringent restrictive measures were implemented there,
so cargo moving out from Quanzhou were affected.

Qingdao / Ningbo

BR  Working as normal in office

Ports/Trucking/Customs/Warehouse: Normal Operation

Hongkong

BR Hongkong office: Half of team members Work From Home until further notice

Ports/Trucking/Customs/Warehouse in Hongkong: Normal Operation

Local Courier: Partly affected as some couriers refused to take up orders to residential buidlings.
