AUSTRALIA – HONG KONG FREE TRADE AGREEMENT

9/1/2020

To our Valued Customers,

BRi wishes to inform its customers of a new Free Trade Agreement which will soon be operational.  The Australia – Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement (A-HKFTA) will enter into force on 17 January 2020.

The A-HKFTA will provide duty reductions for products manufactured in Hong Kong upon the presentation of a Certificate of Origin (COO) or a Declaration of Origin (DOO).  COO’s must be issued by authorised organisations while DOO’s may be made by importers, exporters or producers.

Our industry is awaiting further operational information from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  BRi will share relevant information via our news bulletins as it comes to hand.

Feel free to contact your BRi Customer Solutions Representative, should you have any further queries or concerns in relation to this matter.

Keeping you updated,

BRi Customs Team
