Covid-19 Update - Outbreak in Shenzhen

Dear Valued Partner,

There was fresh Covid-19 outbreak in Shenzhen this week, caused by the highly contagious Omicron subvariant BA.5, which has posed more severe challenges to the city's COVID prevention and control work.

A lockdown was enforced and stay at home orders executed to cover subdistricts of Futian, Luohu, Longgan.

Additional restrictions were announced in Guangzhou and several big cities like Chengdu as of August 31.

Authorities stated that these new restrictions will last only a few day if the spreading is under control.


Below is a summary of the most updated situation of BRI and Shenzhen port operations.

  • BRI Shenzhen office: Work from home on Sept. 2nd, if public transportations allow, all will return to office from Sept 5th
  • Ports/Trucking/Customs/Warehouse in Shenzhen: Normal Operations
