CHANGES TO CUSTOMS/DEPT OF AGRICULTURE IMPORT PROCESSING CHARGES FROM 1 JANUARY 2020

BRi wishes to inform our clients that the Department of Agriculture (DOA) today announced their cost recovery fees will increase from 1 January 2020. This fee is imposed on all import declarations for consignments valued over $ 1,000 AUD and is combined with the Australian Border Force (ABF) entry processing charge.

 

Fees will be increased by $ 5 per airfreight consignment and $ 7 per sea freight shipment.

 

The new and combined ‘ABF’ & ‘DOA’ Import Processing / Entry fees will be billed as listed below;

Entry Type (Combined ABF/DOA)                                  Old Fee            New Fee

Import Declaration – Air (Customs Value under $10,000)     $83.00             $88.00

Import Declaration – Air (Customs Value over $10,000)       $185.00           $190.00

Import Declaration – Sea (Customs Value under $10,000)    $92.00             $99.00

Import Declaration – Sea (Customs Value over $10,000)      $194.00           $201.00

 

Note: there are no changes made to shipments with a total value of < AUD $1,000.00.

At this stage the ABF have not indicated whether their processing charge will be increasing, however BRi will keep you updated should any change be announced.
