Illegal logging prohibition – Our recommendation

To all our valued customers

As a follow up to our media release

To simplify the process for all concerned we would be suggesting the following:

  1. All Importers are to email the Annual Declaration of Wood Form to all Overseas Vendors (relevant to wooden products) and have the Overseas Vendor complete and email back to either our or your attention.
  2. We ask all Importers, where relevant to take the Overseas Supplier Questionnaire with them when they are visiting an Overseas Vendor in 2014 or 2015.

You are to simply work through the form to the best of your ability based on Overseas Vendor comments and then bring this document back with you to Australia and hand or email to BR International for filing on your behalf and we would suggest you keep a copy for yourself.

We feel that the above is best practice where you don’t believe emailing the questionnaire to your Overseas Vendor will work.
