General Rate Increase (GRI) – North East Asia to Australia 24th October 2013

Please find the following media release as of today 30th September from Maersk Shipping Lines
To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements, Maersk Line is implementing the next phase of the revenue recovery program with effect from 24th October 2013.
Freight rates from North East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea) to Australia will be increased by USD 400 per TEU and USD 800 per FFE.
This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.
