DP World Announces further increases, across Australia, to their Terminal Infrastructure Levy

6/11/2019

To our Valued Customers,

DP World Australia have announced there will be further increases to their “Terminal Infrastructure / Access Charge” for all import & export containers going into/out of all DP World terminals nationwide.

The increase in charges will come into effect from 1 January 2020.

This will add further cost to importers with continued and drastic increases from the commencement of this levy over the past number of years.

Industry representatives look forward to meeting the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), to discuss this, the spate of emerging surcharges and other matters affecting the competitiveness of the Australian international trade and logistics sectors.

We would also appeal to Patricks, VICT, Hutchinson and the other stevedores, to show restraint from matching these increases, where it is obvious that they are unwarranted and will be brought to the attention of regulators and lawmakers.

While it may be true that stevedore cost recovery models are needed, a unilateral price increase, with no negotiation should not be tolerated.
