Urgent News Relating to Duty/GST Liabilities - RESENDING

Given the recent escalation in the Covid-19 pandemic, BR International is no longer able to support your Duty/GST liabilities.

 

Effective immediately, all Duty/GST amounts need to be paid prior to  release of shipments.

 

Our industry body is meeting with the Australian Government today to request an immediate deferral program for all Australian Importers but at this time the Government has no plans to change current duty procedures.

 

As a reminder to you all we urge everyone to take advantage of the ATO’s GST deferral scheme & apply immediately

 

Once approved by the ATO, this will provide for relief from the need for immediate payments as the GST amounts will then fall due in line with BAS reported.
