US shipping lines announce congestion surcharge

As the port congestion situation in West Coast USA worsens shipping lines have announced the implementation of congestion surcharges.

In an effort to strengthen their bargaining positions during US Holiday seasons Longshore Union rolling program of “go slows” & non supply of labour at Long Beach & Oakland terminals.

This has resulted in considerably longer stay for vessels as they struggle to unload & load vessel.

With immediately effect shipping lines are imposing a congestion surcharge on all import & export containers to/from all USA ports

Amount: US $800/20′, US$1000/40′, US$1125/40’HC – Applicable to/from all USA ports.

(LCL) Amount: US $25.00 w/m (Minimum: $25.00) – Applicable to/from all USA ports.

Please ensure you are factoring in the above surcharges.
