Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ( DAWR ) manufacturer declaration requirements – for customs clearance clients

19/7/2018

To our Valued Customers,

BRi would like to inform our customs clearance clients that the DAWR have tightened their documentary requirements in relation to manufacturer declarations.  Such documents have always required a signature, printed name and date. A company / job title is also now required.

Affected documents include MDF declarations, “mosquito” declarations, plywood declarations, new & unused declarations and storage declarations.

Failure to provide acceptable manufacturer declarations will result in mandatory DAWR inspections or treatment, both of which will incur additional costs. In light of this, BRi will be requesting amended documents where manufacturer declarations are not compliant with this new job title requirement.

We strongly suggest importers inform their suppliers of this requirement to prevent any potential delays.

Please feel free to contact your BRi customs department should you have any queries in relation to this matter.

Keeping you updated

BRI Customs Team
