Our People

BRi is a company of around 70 people who work in our Sydney Head Office, our Melbourne and Brisbane offices.  We’re not huge, but we certainly punch well above our weight in terms of leadership in the logistics industry.  Our success is due to talented leaders and an extraordinary staff team.  We employ staff who are proud to share our values (Excellence, Innovation, People, Fun) - people who have exceptional knowledge, listening skills and ability to meet our clients’ current and future needs.  While on this page we are introducing only our directors, we acknowledge and greatly value every person on our team.

Aaron Poole is a genuinely charming person to do business with.  It’s obvious that he loves the work he does.  He ‘gets it’ that customers DO come first - and he shows our people that he values them – both qualities that are not all that common among senior business leaders.  Aaron also puts a lot of effort into encouraging our team to become better and better at their own particular skills.

When, with Director Michael Bourne, he founded BRi in 2004, Aaron used his formidable industry-related training, combined with absolute commitment to building a business that was quite different from the typical logistics company.  Aaron is an ideas man.  Right from the start, he understood that customers deserved a service provider who would see things their way.  Now he’s built a whole team who do everything in their power to provide industry leadership and inspirational service.

Born quite a while ago in New Zealand, these days one can barely discern that distinctive New “Zilland” accent.   Though many of you know that Aaron is pretty well attached to his email around the clock, he does find time to read autobiographies of inspirational people, and he enjoys AFL, Rugby, Golf and spending time with wife and three children.

Director Mike Bourne works from the company's Sydney, New South Wales Head Office. Mike has worked in industry leadership roles for many years, and with a variety of management and industry-specific qualifications, he was perfectly suited to taking on a stake holding at BR International’s inception.

As the company's directors, Mike and Aaron make an excellent team and fulfill very well balanced responsibilities.  While both love a challenge, possess huge energy levels, and gain a lot of enjoyment from their work, Mike is very much detail focused and often acts as "the devil's advocate", carefully weighing up decisions to ensure the successful strategic growth of the business.

Mike is into the gentlemanly sport of golf, balanced by a love of rough and ready Aussie Rules Football, Basketball and generally keeping fit.
