China blasts: Casualties in Tianjin Port City Explosions

A massive explosion hit Tianjin Port at 23:30 (15:30 GMT) on Wednesday and was followed by
another, more powerful blast, seconds later. Shockwaves were felt several kilometres away. China’s Earthquake centre reported the blast was the equivalent of detonating three tons of TNT.

The BBC reported today that the cause is pointing to an industrial accident as the blasts came from a warehouse that stored chemical goods. It took 100 fire engines to contain the blaze.

17 confirmed dead with hospitals inundated with hundreds more injured patients.
