General rate increases (GRI) updates

Chennai port operation cost recovery surcharge

Please be advised that due to a sudden increase of the Chennai port tariff, ANL has to implement an operation cost recovery surcharge to compensate for the loss generated by significant tariff increase on our marine costs.

Consequently a Chennai port operation cost recovery surcharge will be applicable to all import and export containers (Full and Empty – Dry and Reefers) as of the 1 March 2015  with a quantum of $20.00 USD / TEU.

Canada and United States to Australia and New Zealand

A general rate increase (GRI) will apply from Maersk to Canada and United States (West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast) to New Zealand and Australia

Freight rates for all dry and reefer cargo moving from Canada, United States West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast to New Zealand and Australia will increase $300 USD per TEU and $600 USD per FFE.

This rate increase is a reflection of the current unsustainable rate levels that will not allow shipping lines to continue offering their current service portfolio.
